Laurent Wilga Lerat, called Lolek, is a sculptor born in Boulogne, 14th may 1984.
Since his very childhood, he creates his first drawings and pastels at the age of 10, as well as his first bronze sculptures at the time when he was 12 years old.
In 2004, he graduated from high school, science stream, but refuses to continue further education willing to devote himself entirely to his passion. He starts his artistic career by painting with dry pastel crushed with fingers on the paper, then works with lost-wax bronze casting.
Today, the nudity does not surprise anyone, but at the time of religious schools where he had been studied, the erotic character of his work was extremely criticized and school teachers said that he had no talent and his drawing were too simplistic.
Undaunted by the challenge, he creates a unique artistic style. His artwork revealed the inner feeling of balance and generous rounded shapes that we see through his artistic career.
His sculptures expresses feeling sensations, a little seductive which makes his a very talented and outstanding artist. His sculptures walk their pets on a lead, which characterize the current period and mark his style. All his artworks are beautifully crafted, enhanced with the highest quality patina.
The pure lines and generous forms allow his to create without knowing special techniques and make easily stable his sculptures. Such a lack of ripeness is considered as his artistic signature.
Nowadays, he is profoundly liked with his art.
His sculptures are permanently exposed at Mikael Marciano Gallery in Paris, as well as all over the France and the United States since 1998.
LOLEK is an artist, listed in auction house, Drouot, in Paris.
